Anxiety Reduction for Older Adults is designed for adults ages 60+ who need to reduce the daily anxiety they experience in order to live a more relaxed lifestyle. The eight-week program will cover the following topics:
Session 1: Introduction, motivation, education, breathing skills
Session 2: Progressive muscle relaxation
Sessions 3 & 4: Changing thoughts
Session 5: Problem solving
Session 6: Changing behavior and learning sleep skills
Session 7: Review and practice of coping skills
Session 8: Review all of the above
• Six to ten participants in the group.
• Participants learn relaxation and breathing skills, coping and problem-solving, changing one’s thoughts, as well as sleep skills.
• Led by an experienced, licensed clinical therapist.
• We welcome people of all religious beliefs!
Our Anxiety Reduction Program runs for eight weeks and is held on Thursdays, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (each session is 90 minutes). All RJFS clinical services are insurance reimbursable.
